We are insecure.
We are envious, encroaching, grateful.
We are strange – delicate – ignorant – freaky.
We are diverse.

Humans as social beings have the ability to empathise with others, to put themselves in their place.

“US” not only transfers the natural forms of emotional contagion into dance-choreographic settings, but also sheds light on the other side: what attributions arise from our empathic empathy? How do we label, categorise and stamp people and situations? Attributions and labels are fleeting and at the same time stick to us. The performers in Silke Z.’s ensemble DIE METABOLISTEN make use of a flood of labels. DIE METABOLISTEN make visible this overflow of attributions, categories and labels that flow into every individual and every situation. They bring the various facets and characteristics to the surface. Sometimes attributions appear very personal, sometimes a label is rather arbitrary.

More and more qualities, emotions, attributions, attributes fill, overgrow and clutter the space. The attributions remain manifest, cannot be erased, give the space a form, shape the people. From the multi-layered I’s in the space, a WE emerges – which is compassionate and aloof, feels pity and shows disrespect, a tightrope walk between attraction and aversion, affection and encroachment. An emotional rollercoaster.

In the PURPOSE OF USE indicate the date you want to watch and your e-mail address to which we will send the access data. The password and Vimeo link will be sent upon receipt of payment on the day of the screening. Access to the video is then possible from 7pm to midnight.
