PRIVACY NOTICE AND DATA PRIVACY STATEMENT

Privacy Protection

Your privacy is taken very seriously by this site’s operators. We handle your personal data in complete confidence and in accordance with legal privacy protection regulations as well as within the confines of this privacy notice and data privacy statement.

The use of this website may usually be carried out without stating personal data. As far as our site collects personal data (such as name, address or e-mail address), this occurs on a voluntary basis, wherever possible. We do not divulge this data to third parties without prior express consent.

We would like to point out that internet data transfer (e.g., in the case of e-mail communication) may exhibit security leaks. Complete protection of data against third-party access is not possible.

Cookies

The internet site may partially use so-called cookies. Cookies do not infringe damage on your computer and do not contain any virus. Cookies strive to make our offering more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Cookies are comprised of small text files that become stored on your computer as well as with your browser.

Most of the cookies we employ are of the “session cookie” variety. Those will automatically be deleted following your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until deleted by the user. Those cookies enable us to recognise your browser upon return to our website.

You may configure your browser so as to automatically inform you about cookie implementation and to allow cookies in individual cases only, to refuse cookies in particular cases or in general, and you may also activate automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Functionality of this website may be impaired if cookies are deactivated.

Server-Log-Files

This site’s provider automatically accumulates and records information in so-called server log files which your browser automatically forwards to us. They are:

– browser type and browser version
– operating system
– referrer URL
– host name of the accessing computer
– time of the server request

This data cannot be correlated with certain persons. A combination of these files with other data sources will not be undertaken. We reserve the right to check these files afterwards if we learn of concrete evidence indicating illegal activity.

SSL Encryption

For security reasons and to safeguard the transmission of confidential content, e.g. the enquiries you may send us, this site employs SSL encryption. You may discern an encrypted connection when the browser address header changes from “http://” to “https://”, and also from the lock symbol appearing in your browser header.

Once activated, third-party reading of the files you transfer to us will be prevented.

Newsletter

To receive our newsletter, you must provide your e-mail address as well as your first and last name. The data you entrust us with in order to receive the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe and will be deleted once you have unsubscribed from the newsletter.

We employ the services of MailChimp for the distribution of our newsletter. This service is provided by the Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is a service that, amongst other things, organises and analyses newsletter distribution. If data (e.g. an e-mail address) is provided in order to receive the newsletter, this data will be stored on MailChimp servers situated in the USA.

MailChimp possesses certification adhering to the “EU-US Privacy Shield“. This “Privacy Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA that ensures the upholding of European privacy standards in the USA.

We may analyse our newsletter campaigns with the aid of MailChimp. When you open an e-mail sent via MailChimp, a file enclosed within the e-mail (a so-called web beacon) connects with the US-based MailChimp servers. In this way, we may conclude whether a newsletter mail has been opened and which links may have been followed. Additionally, technical information is gathered (e.g., request time, IP address, browser type, and operating system). This information cannot be correlated with the individual newsletter recipient. They exclusively serve statistical newsletter campaign analysis. The analysis’ results may be used to customise future newsletters to the recipient’s interests.

Should you not wish to participate in a MailChimp analysis, you will have to unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a dedicated link in every newsletter mail. You may also unsubscribe directly from the site.

Data handling occurs according to your assent (Art. 6, Paragraph 1 lit. a DSGVO). You may revoke this assent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legitimacy of past data processing remains inviolate by this revocation.

Data deposited with us in order to receive our newsletter will be stored with us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from MailChimp servers afterwards. Data that has been provided for other means (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unchanged.

Please refer to the MailChimp privacy terms at https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/ for more information.

Entering into a Data Processing Agreement
We have entered into a so-called “data processing agreement” with MailChimp in which we commit MailChimp to safeguard our clients’ data and to not hand them out to third parties. The corresponding contract may be reviewed here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/forms/data-processing-agreement/sample-agreement/.

Google Web Fonts

We use so-called web fonts provided by Google in order to offer consistent depictions of fonts. Upon accessing a site, your browser stores the web fonts needed in your browser cache to correctly display text and fonts.

To do this, the browser employed by you must connect with Google’s servers. Thus, Google gathers knowledge about the fact that your IP address was used to access our website. The use of Google web fonts takes place in the interest of a coherent and attractive display of our online offerings. This constitutes a justifiable interest according to Article 6, Paragraph 1 lit. f DSGVO.

Should your browser not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

Please find more information on Google Web Fonts at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq as well as in Google’s privacy statement: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Information, Deletion and Suspension Rights

You may reserve the right, at any time and without consideration, to demand information about your personal data, its origins and recipients and the purpose of data processing as well as the right of correction, suspension or deletion of said data. For this as well as for further questions about personal data, you may contact us at any time using the address given in the imprint.
