In “absence#4″ the company Jacques Bana Yanga (Democratic Republic of Congo) and IPtanz (Germany) engage in a danced dialogue. Two cultures, two social systems, each based on its own principles and conditions for the vital aspects of reliability and security. Each with its own history of violence, upheaval and destruction. The world knows no status quo. Against the backdrop of world events, the two companies search for body images, invent a language of movement, six dancers in dialogue with their respective cultural imprint, determined by the search for a reformulation of values and the fear of a dystopian future. The walk-in dance installation “absence#4″ invites the audience into a scenographic dance architecture between stability and collapse.
