Plastic has rapidly spread and intertwined with existing matter. It has shaped and changed our everyday life, economy, aesthetics and social interaction. Now, individual layers of rock are beginning to encase the plastic, heralding the approaching end of the plastic era.
The end of plastic must be celebrated: The Plastic Archive gathers objects made of plastic, their stories, sounds and great performances in a digital archive. In addition, interviews with experts from plastic production and archaeology, art and business.
Rotterdam Presenta invites you to commemorate plastic, to follow its traces and to rummage through the archive together.
