The piece “Sound & Vision” became “Sound & Vision – the film” in a forced standstill. The young ensemble adapted the project to the digital space and its specific possibilities and limits: the footage material of dances for Day X combines with conversations about the hopes and fears of the young people to form a cross-media bricolage, which is reinforced by selected music by Ludwig van Beethoven, in a new arrangement by Jörg Ritzenhoff, the perceived break with the old and thus becomes a unique experience.
The feeling of departure is also reflected in the movements and energies of the young Bonn ensemble. The members of the Junior Company Bonn dance as representatives of the generation between the dawn of climate change and pandemic-induced standstill, which is rethinking the word “normality”. After the outdoor version, a version will now be created for the theatre in the ballroom that addresses and stages these experiences.
