The first theatre-dance performance conceived especially for the Humboldt Forum follows in the footsteps of one of the two people who gave the Forum its name, the world traveller and author Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859). The theatre evening, conceived by Cuban choreographer Maura Morales and German director Clemens Bechtel, focuses on the contradictory sides of the celebrated explorer, whose successes cannot be seen independently of the power structures of the colonial era, which were determined by oppression and exploitation.
