PREMIERE: Alfredo Zinola // 200 ways // tanzhaus nrw // 17/5/21
In his new solo “200 ways”, dancer and choreographer Alfredo Zinola uses movement to create a bond between himself and the audience. In this playful performance for a young audience, even the simplest movement of a finger can talk about so many things. Here, a different kind of movement virtuosity is proposed: instead of tricks and jumps, simple common gestures serve to generate an encounter between the performer and the spectators. Just by looking, the spectators become protagonists. This exchange creates a unique language of movement that enables understanding, complicity and togetherness. “200 Ways” oscillates between the abstract, the personal, and the fantastic to create an unfamiliar yet fascinating movement universe, where an outstretched hand is as captivating as a somersault.
