Morgan Nardi

Morgan Nardi’s works are marked by the courage to venture to the borderlines as well as by a deep reaching poetry, declaimed with the ease conveyed through a great joy of playing. The delicate precision of his style of movement, spiked with ironizing humour, is a combination of body language and voice, exploring the possibilities of language with cunningly employed emotional depth. Within his minimalist choreographies, mostly conceived as solos or duets, a multilayered drama emerges which nevertheless stays concentrated on the essentials. Time and again, he looks for encounters and exchange with artists from other genres, be they visual or video arts or music.

Morgan Nardi received his education in classical and modern dance in Florence, Milan and Cannes. After engagements in Florence, Bologna and Milan, he came to Germany in 1995 and became a member of ensemble NEUER TANZ in Düsseldorf until 1998. Together with video artist Naoko Tanaka, he formed performance collective Ludica. in 2001. His dance installation von Rosen, da beißt sie ab won first prize Tendances 2002 at the festival Cour de Capucins in Luxembourg. Morgan Nardi was introduced at the BIENNALE DI VENEZIA with his production Koko Doko within the symposium SPAZI VITALI (Living Spaces) in July 2007. With Ludica., he was invited to the German Dance Platform in 2010 with their production The Corner. Since 2010, Morgan Nardi has been concentrating on his own works with the solo A one M(org)an Show as well as the duet D.E.S. – Dubito ergo sum.
