bodytalk produces dance theatre with a politically motivated content. It all starts with the question “What happens, when reality and dance clash?“. Yoshiko Waki and Rolf Baumgart founded their company bodytalk, which is situated in Münster, in 2008. Choreographer Yoshiko Waki studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Heidelberg-Mannheim – Akademie des Tanzes and graduated with a degree in stage dance and dance education. She worked, among others, with Johann Kresnik, Susanne Linke, Rheinhild Hoffmann, Christof Schlingensief at the Volksbühne am Rosa Luxemburg Platz Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Theater Bremen. bodytalk has been receiving the “Spitzenförderung”, a three-year basis funding by the Government of North-Rhine-Westphalia and and has been included into the Doppelpass.Programm of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes. bodytalk is bases as artist-in residence at the Pumpenhaus Münster since 2016.
