PREMIERE: BOMBE SPRICHT // bodytalk & BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH // 12/9/19 // schwere reiter, München
Dance theatre with live music by bodytalk (Münster) and Beetween Heaven and Earth (Jerusalem)
Can there be a positive suicide bomber? Yes, his name is Arie Katzenstein. When a plane was hijacked for the first time in Germany in February 1970, it failed at Munich-Riem Airport. During the stopover from flight El Al 435, the transit bus was attacked with hand grenades, one of which the passenger Arie Katzenstein threw himself on and died, saving the lives of many others. The German-Israeli co-production tells from the perspective of the bomb. It’s about the one second it takes from pulling the trigger to detonation. What if the bomb decides not to explode at this moment when everything seems possible? If it refuses to function according to its purpose? Is it a good role model for us? What can we learn from her? bodytalk cooperates for the first time with the ensemble Between Heaven and Earth from Jerusalem, of which orthodox dancers are members.
Co-production with Theater im Pumpenhaus (Münster), Machol Shalem Dance House (Jerusalem), Asphalt Festival (Düsseldorf)
Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW, the Kunststiftung NRW, the Cultural Office of the City of Münster, Pathos (Munich), Consulate General of the State of Israel in Munich
