The combination of different dance styles is the trademark of Renegade. Somewhere, five break dancers and four contemporary dancers meet. Spaces emerge, only to be transformed instantly. The dancers create obstacles to overcome, build heights to scale, invent roads to explore. Together, they discover places, defining them, changing them constantly. Choreographer and director Malou Airaudo, long-time member of Pina Bauschs Wuppertaler Tanztheater, keeps being inspired by the personalities and the technique of her dancers, trusting in encounters and the creative moment. This exciting expedition begins somewhere, yet never actually ends anywhere. With her piece Irgendwo (Somewhere), Renegade has been invited to the German Dance Platform 2012 in Dresden. Renegade has been artist in residence at the Schauspiel Bochum since 2010, where Irgendwo, among other plays, was coproduced.
