Renegade’s award-winning adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Julia combines street dance, modern dance and acting, creating an adrenaline-driven concoction of fighting, dance and passion. Lorca Renoux stages the conflict of the two family clans in a stirring hip hop battle.
"It's a non-stop rush to disaster so fuelled with sweat, passion and exhilaration that you lose yourself in it completely. ... thrilling stuff, a real Shakespeare turn on!" (Lyn Gardner, The Guardian)
By revisiting Rumble, the Renegade Company dares to draw on a piece of their own contemporary history. Half of the original cast is coming together with newcomers from the German scene. The audience can expect to be a witness to masterful displays in acrobatics and dance in a quest for new forms of expression and a contagious mix of perfection and passion. The story of Romeo and Juliet forms a perfect story foil.
