North Rhine-Westphalia as a dance state is home to a vital and strong contemporary dance scene. Numerous independent companies from North-Rhine Westphalia sport a profile reaching far beyond regional boundaries. iDASNRW aims to intensify this development.

iDAS ^NRW acts as a service for contemporary dance companies and choreographers from NRW as well as for national and international presenters, it is active in counseling and concrete placement.

iDAS^nrw counsels and supports professional contemporary dance companies in North Rhine-Westphalia in production and distribution affairs, especially acting as a booking liaison to presenters in Germany and abroad concerning possible touring productions. The autonomy of the artist remains untouched at all levels. This requires immediate knowledge of the working methods and concerns of the artists, their currently available works, their future intentions as well as being throroughly acquainted with the conditions of the cooperating institutions, festivals and local partners. The close association with the tanzhaus.nrw grants iDAS access to the longstanding experience of the tanzhaus.nrw and its vast international network, thereby providing a valuable foundation for iDAS.

The selection of companies represented by iDAS^NRW will annually be chosen by a board of trustees. The spectrum of companies ranges from contemporary dance, performance, installative works (indoors and outdoors) to hip hop theatre, dance theatre and productions for children and young people.
